Road around Johto Chapter 3

Chapter 3- A Splendid trainer is born!

Chris stood there shaking seeing his Doduo faint after Whitney's Miltank used rollout. He returned his Doduo and he felt his whole entire body go numb and his heart pound fast. He held his last pokemon in the pokeball in his hand. Whitney smirked once again and looked at Chris "Chris" She said and his head snapped up in shock. "Have you had enough? are you finished?" She asked smiling. Chris held out his last pokeball "Not yet..." He said. Chris threw the pokeball and released out his Magmar and grinned evilly and laughed.

After the countless beatings, Chris watched his Magmar fall in failure. He fell to his knees returning his Magmar and trembled violently. "Magmar can no longer battle! The victor goes to Miltank! The winner is Whitney!" Bryan declared and Whitney returned her Miltank. Chris had never lost a single battle before. He had his first loss ever. This made him tremble and feel depressed. Chris grabbed his headband and took it off letting his black dark hair drop and go across his face. He was still trembling angrily and Whitney came to him. "Chris" She said and he shot his head up at her. "That was a good battle" She said and smiled. He couldn't help but think she was incredibly adorable with that smile of hers. "Why....why are you so strong?" He asked trembling at the same time.

Whitney raised an eyebrow. "It's a gym leaders job to be strong" She answered. "But your only the 1st one! thats impossible!" Chris said. Whitney looked at him shocked and then giggled slightly. "What? this is the 3rd gym silly!" She said and Chris felt his face flush with embarrassment. "o-oh. i-it is?" He asked. Whitney nodded and Chris hid his face in utter embarrassment. Whitney lifted Chris's head up and kissed his forehead gently. Chris felt his face flush worse than before. He stopped trembling and felt his whole body go numb. She smiled at him and yelled "ANDREW!!!" Whitney's best friend Andrew ran down and looked at her "yea?" He asked. "I want you to run the gym. I'm going to travel with Chris and his friends" She said and Chris shot his eyes open in shock.

Once outside, Chris looked at the sun set and put his headband back onto his forehead. "Am i really not that strong?" He asked himself. "You dont trust them" Whitney said and Chris turned around quickly. "What?" He asked still looking at her. "You don't put your trust within your Pokemon. without that, you'll keep losing...like you lost today" She said and Chris tightened his hands into fists. He slumped down onto the grass and Whitney sat next to him. "What if i never obtain that skill?" He asked. Whitney looked at him "You will" She said smiling. She grabbed Chris's arm and put it around her and looked at him. Chris blushed and looked at her. "What? I'm cold" She said snuggling close to him. 'She is so clueless......good thing she'll never know i like her' Whitney looked down at the ground gripping onto Chris's arm. 'he's clueless...maybe he won't find out i like him'
